At its most basic level, a blockchain is a type of database, but instead of data being housed in a central location, it's distributed across a network of computers, known as nodes. Each node in the network maintains a copy of the entire blockchain, and they all work together to validate and record new transactions. Think of a blockchain as a digital ledger that is public and transparent. When a transaction occurs, it's grouped together in a block with other transactions that have happened around the same time. This block is then added to a chain of previous transactions, hence the name blockchain. What makes this special is that once a block is added to the chain, it's very difficult to try to change it, making fraudulent transactions nearly impossible. #Blockchain101 #UnderstandingBlockchain #ImmutableBlockchain #CryptoEducation #DecentralizedNetwork #TransparentBlockchain #PublicLedger #BlockchainSimplified #DistributedNetwork #SecureBlockchain #shorts
